She swore she’d never come back, but she is now her sister’s guardian, and family is everything to her. Maybe I'm just tired of the trope, but it was a bit much that the entire town tried to throw their sisters / cousins / daughters to him as if they had no agency and all mindlessly wanted the MMC because he was a hot former baller. There’s nothing overly bad about the book (beyond an excessive amount of OW and OM drama), but there also wasn’t enough swoon to overcome that initial fumble either. Their first kiss after their ONS is at 31%, and then their first smexy time is at 65% (oh LAWD it was 🔥). But there were too many times I was asked to “go with it” when situations were just a bit ridiculous.

I’m so glad that I picked this up on a whim and I honestly can’t wait for the next book in the series.Being with him, even though he’s still finding out who he is and what he needs, is like peeking into possibilities.

The fact that he doesn’t even recognize Nova when they meet again a few years later makes the whole interaction feel really slimy.Ronan has been successfully coaching the high school football team, which means that the town wants him to settle down with someone so he doesn’t leave, and a very nosy townie, Lois, does whatever she needs to do to get Nova and Ronan together.
