Description

Sterilizing all of your baby’s feeding equipment each time you use it is reccomended for at least the first 12 months of your baby’s life. How long do you have to sterilize baby bottles? This compact, economical and easy-to-use microwave steriliser holds four bottles and includes a special tray for the teats and small parts. Simply use a de-scaler that’s suitable for stainless steel i.e. kettle, iron and coffee machine de-scalers. Alternatively, you can use white vinegar, however this will need to be carried out more frequently as it’s not as effective as a purpose bought de-scaler. As shown in the above guide using the microwave steriliser, wash all of the bottle components in warm soapy water. 2. Place The Valve Into The Base If you’ve used a cold water steriliser, you can leave them in the steriliser until required. However, you’ll want to read the instructions for the sterilising liquid or tablet because some may require you to replace the solution after 24 hours. Conclusion

Having one sterilising solution all day is handy and it helps with multiple baby feeds, allowing you to take things in and out of it throughout the day. We love that there’s a spout to empty the solution and, as with most Milton products, there’s no need to rinse the sterilised items prior to using them. To use, simply wash your bottles, dummies and so on beforehand, put them in the solution, wait 15 minutes and you’re good to go.To use a Milton cold water steriliser (with tablets or liquid) to sterilise your MAM bottles, follow the below steps. 1. Setup The Cold Water Steriliser The cold-water sterilisation method has been around for many years and kills germs by using a tablet or fluid that dissolves into cold water. Items are placed in this mixed solution, which can be used both at home or if you’re out and about. The best part about this method is that this cold-water solution can be reused for the next 24 hours after the initial setup. Cold-water sterilising can take around 15 minutes to get items sterile. What is a UV steriliser?

Key details – Type: Cold-water sterilisation; Capacity: Approx 5, 260ml bottles; Travel-friendly: Yes If you decide to bottle feed full-time with either formula or expressed milk, an efficient steriliser is a must. I know they can be done in the microwave but at the moment we put them in the tommie tippee electric steriliser but that has stopped working and the bottles never really fit nicely in there . Sterilizer contents stay sterile for 24 hours* when the lid is properly secured. There’s no need to wait for the bottles to dry before using them, just ensure you allow time for them to cool down. Cold water sterilisers are simple tanks that you fill with a measured amount of water and sterilising tablets. You immerse your baby’s bottles in the water for around 30 minutes, and then rinse them in cooled boiled water. This is a cheap way of sterilising and is safe as it doesn’t involve electricity, hot water or steam but it’s time-consuming and you need to change the sterilising fluid every 24 hours.

Your baby will need around six clean bottles a day, so make sure you choose a larger model that can sterilise that amount in one go, or a super-fast microwave version that will only take a couple of minutes to work. Now that the bottom half of the bottle is cleaned, you can proceed to fill the bottom tray of the steriliser. We recommend the formation as shown in the image because it provides plenty of space around the bottle.

Cold-water units vary in size, and you’ll also need somewhere to safely store the dissolvable tablets. Microwave steriliser bags take up minimal space and can fit in a nappy bag or even a drawer with your sandwich bags. Anything else I need to consider? A UV steriliser is a popular and efficient sterilising method that’s adopted in hospitals and dental practices across the UK. It uses an ultraviolet light to sterilise equipment and doesn’t require water. Ultraviolet models are usually more expensive than other types of steriliser, but they don’t use any chemicals, nor do they require descaling, which can be a huge bonus. Key details – Type: Electric and microwave steam steriliser; Capacity: Approx 5 bottles; Travel-friendly: Yes Depending upon the size of your MAM bottles will determine how many you can add. For example, we usually put 4 small or 3 large bottles in at once.Sterilizing is one of the most important ways of protecting your baby so that they stay safe and healthy. MAM has long been a go-to brand for baby bottles, soothers, breastfeeding products and sterilisers, so it’s little wonder this all-singing, all-dancing piece of kit performed well in testing. Helpfully offering six functions in one, this steriliser can be used as an electric or a microwave steam steriliser, provides two bottle warming options, plus a keep-warm function, and can defrost or warm food when you eventually start weaning. Clean your baby's bottles and protect their developing immune system with the help of our steam and UV sterilizing units.
